Former exchange student to speak at youth night
The Rotary Club of Umina Beach is celebrating past, present and future exchange students during Youth Night at Ocean Beach Surf Club, from 6pm on October 3.
"We have arranged for a successful recipient of such a youth program to speak on the evening," said club publicity officer, Mr Geoff Melville.
"Brent Juratowitch was sponsored by this club as an exchange student to Japan in 1982.
"On his return to Australia, Brent joined Austrade, assisting Australian businesses to succeed in trade and business.
"Subsequently, Brent spent a considerable time in Osaka, Japan, working with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
"He ended up in charge of some 90 offices around Australia, for the Department assisting people in exporting to other countries.
"Brent currently lectures in Customs and Excise at Charles Sturt University in Canberra.
"He is also Director of Vocational Education, International Programs and Consultancies for Customs and Excise Studies.
"He travels and consults regularly and advises government departments on his specialty," Mr Melville said.
