Battlefield Ban return to Troubadour

The Troubadour Folk Club will host Scottish folk band, the Battlefield Band, in their concert at St Luke Hall, Woy Woy, from 7pm on Saturday, September 29.

"The Battlefield Band last visited Australia in 2013," said Troubadour president Mr Michael Fine.

"When they last played for the Troubadour, it was the biggest concert we have put on in 20 years, drawing Scots men and women and lovers of Celtic music from far and near for an unforgettable night of music.

"Now Alan Reid, founding member of the Battlefield Band from its inception in 1969 till his retirement in 2010, is returning to The Troubadour with guitarist and accompanist, Rob van Sante," Mr Fine said.

"Together, Alan and Rob present a fabulous evening of old and new music, featuring Alan's new compositions, Battlefield Band favourites and songs from Rob.

"The show combines great Scottish ballads and favourite new and old songs with open-tuned lead and accompaniment guitar work from Rob, Alan's keyboard, guitar and accordion and fine harmony singing from both," he said.

Tickets essential.
