Acoustic duo at folk club
Acoustic music duo Cap in Hand will perform at the next Troubadour Folk Club concert to be held on Saturday, October 19, from 7pm.
Dave Spira, originally from Cumbria in the far north of England, and Nigel Walters who hails from the Roman town of Bath in the sunny south of the country, met over 10 years ago and discovered their mutual love of great guitar and beautiful lyrics.
Nigel sings, plays finger style guitar, mandolin and cello mandolin.
He is known in Australian through his work over more than a decade with the Wheeze and Suck Band.
Dave plays finger style acoustic guitar in a range of open tunings.
Both members of the duo write songs and draw from a treasure chest of traditional music.
Cap in Hand performed at this year's St Albans Festival and their newly-released first album Harlequin highlights Dave's finger style guitar playing and song writing skills as well as Nigel's vocals and sensitive musical accompaniment on guitar and cello mandolin.
The album has a balanced mix of traditional and contemporary songs and tunes including four tracks that were written by Dave and Nigel
They will perform material from their CD as well as some new songs at the Troubadour concert.
