Preschool to be assessed against standard

Woy Woy Public School's preschool will undergo its assessment and rating process in line with all childcare centres nationwide on June 12 and 13.

The National Quality Standard Rating will extensively look at the seven quality areas, under the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework.

These standards will be checked against the inclusive elements that define each quality area.

Elements are rated in each standard.

If all the elements are met, the standard will be rated as Meeting National Quality Standard or Exceeding National Quality Standard.

"This will be the first time we have undergone the assessment and rating process," said principal Ms Ona Buckley.

"We are looking forward to the process as it will give a clear view as to how effective our preschool is and it will help us reflect on how we can improve our service for our children in the future.

"A look through fresh eyes is always a welcome process and it is designed to ensure that our children receive the best possible care and are well supported in their learning," she said.
