Resort experiences upturn
A holiday resort in Ettalong saw a 17 per cent increase in occupancy this summer season in comparison to previous years.
Guests were booking rooms at the Mantra resort, Ettalong, further out from their dates of stay.
Lengths of stay also increased throughout the holiday period with three to four night stays more common than the usual two to three.
"It's a positive sign that people made their bookings further out from their dates of stay rather than last minute," said Mantra Ettalong general manager Mr Ken Edwards.
"It indicates the increasing popularity of the region and travellers know that if they want to get a certain room type on the dates they want they need to get in early," he said,
