Asbestos concerns

A petition with eight signatures was received by Gosford Council from neighbouring property owners in relation to their concerns over building works at Calypta Rd, Umina.

Petitioners stated that the fibro house was very old and they were concerned with the risk of asbestos being contained in the structure.

They said they believed that building work may not have been conducted in a safe and regulated manner and were concerned with its potentially hazardous fibres being released into the air.

Petitioners have requested that Council to investigate the matter further.
