Award for village newsletter
Peninsula Retirement Village at Umina was recently named the Newsletter Winner of the Aged and Community Services Australia Awards for Excellence.
Its monthly publication "Pipeline" surpassed all other newsletters from Retirement Villages across Australia.
The Pipeline newsletter was delivered to the 400 residents every month and includes regular features such as resident outings and events, personalities of the month, poet's corner and just for laughs.
Personal assistant Ms Lisa Dalton said the publication was made possible through the combined effort of residents, staff members and volunteers and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Chief executive officer Ms Terri Parker said she was "extremely pleased" with the recognition the prestigious award brought.
"It is a wonderful honour for all involved and further testimony to our mission of providing the highest quality care to all of our residents," Ms Parker said.
The Pipeline has been published every month for over five years.
