Woy Woy to host women's cricket
Woy Woy is set to host the City vs Country Women's Cricket Series on November 3 and 4.
The series involves two one-day fixtures to be played at Rogers Park on Ocean Beach Rd, Woy Woy.
Cricket NSW media representative Mr Sudesh Arudpragasam said Woy Woy was an excellent choice to host the series.
"It is the Country teams turn to host the series," Mr Arudpragasam said.
"Rogers Park was chosen because of its excellent facilities and there are a good group of people there to organise the series and ensure it runs smoothly."
Each match will begin at 10am.
The series will take place two weeks before the start of the 2007-08 Women's National Cricket League.
Both teams contain a number of Australia's leading female cricketers including several members from the Australian female squad.
City will be led by Australian vice-captain Ms Lisa Sthalekar and the Country side will be captained by Breakers vice-captain Ms Alex Blackwell.
The winner of the series will receive the Lorna Thomas Trophy.
