Council to fund memorial wall

Gosford Council will contribute $5000 towards the building of a memorial wall at the Memorial Gardens, Brickwharf Rd, Woy Woy.

The wall is being built by the Woy Woy Ettalong Hardys Bay RSL Sub branch

Cr Jim McFadyen proposed the funding at Gosford Council's meeting June 1.

The new wall in the gardens will augment the existing memorial wall and will house an additional 450 plaques when completed.

It will cost $17,000.

Sub-branch funds, donations and a Federal Government Grant totalled $12,000 for the project.

Council will now fund the shortfall of $5000.
