Membership renewals

Everglades Country Club has sent out membership renewal notices for 2004/05.

Sporting members need to renew by June 30 to play in competitions although they still have a month's grace to July 31 to pay their membership fees.

Membership cards this year include a colour photo of the member, taken and processed on renewal.

Art Exhibit Gnostic Mana Cafe in Woy Woy is currently exhibiting the works of Joan Barth.

The cafe in Railway St, Woy Woy is seeking artists to display on their walls each month.

Landcare Award Landcare Australia is calling for entries in the first Natural Heritage Trust Coastcare Community Award, to be awarded as part of the 2004 National Awards in Canberra on September 1.

Nominees must enter at the State level, and one winner from each State will go on to be a finalist in the national award.

Models wanted The Commonwealth Bank at Woy Woy has entry forms for the Model Life 2004 competition.

There are three categories: tiny tots, juniors, teenage and adult.

Prizes include $5000, holidays and photographic shoots. Proceeds from the competition go the Spastic Centre.

Envirofunding Applications for round two of funding from the Australian Governments Envirofund close on July 9.

Community groups can apply for grants from just a few hundred dollars up to $30,000 for projects aimed at restoring and conserving the local environment and contributing to sustainable natural resource management.

Bus makeover The Gosford Senior Citizens bus received a bright makeover on Friday, 4 June.

The bus was spray painted with colourful and diverse images to help promote community safety in Gosford City.

Green Corps Young people aged 17 to 20 are being invited to take part in a new Green Corps project, which begins at Milson Island Sport and Recreation Centre on July 5.

The program involves primary and secondary weed control, bush regeneration, revegetation, seed collection and propagation.

Return to work Outreach-Gosford TAFE is running a "Work opportunities for women" course which helps women re-enter the workforce.

The course will run for 14 weeks two days per week Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am to 3pm at Woy Woy outreach (opposite RTA).

Heritage Village The "Friends of Patonga" have applied to Gosford Councils Heritage Advisory Committee to have the whole of Patonga Village included as a heritage item.

Heitage shed The boatshed at Phegans Bay may be included on the heritage list.

The boatshed has been nominated as a potential heritage item to be assessed Council's next Heritage Review.

Golf finalists Everglades Country Club's C Grade golf team made the final of the 2004 Pennants but were unable to capture the flag losing to a strong Terrigal line-up at Morisset.

The team put in a valiant effort and more than spectator was heard to gasp at the length some of the Terrigal lads were able to hit the ball.
