Training day held for emergencies

Pearl Beach Rural Fire Brigade hosted its annual Operational Training Day on Saturday, March 13.

A number of mock fire incidents and scenarios were staged in the village to prepare crews for a variety of emergencies.

Emergency services including the Rural Fire Service, Ambulance, Police, Fire Brigades and Central Coast Rescue amongst others attended the exercise.

The scenarios included a mock house fire, motor vehicle accidents and injured personnel requiring first aid and medical attention.

The exercise was aimed to ensure emergency services were prepared for a variety of incidents while working together in a cooperative manner.

Training officer for Pearl Beach Rural Fire Brigade, Mr Tony Marsh, said the exercise was a great opportunity for emergency personnel to keep their skill levels up while interacting with other services. The exercise was an all-day event and crews were kept on their toes with a few surprises thrown in.
