Harmony Day is celebrated

Ettalong Public School celebrated Harmony Day on Friday, March 19.

Harmony Day is designed to celebrate the multi-cultural aspects of Australian life and to recognise that people can live in harmony with their neighbours and friends young and old.

Orange was the colour used to celebrate Harmony Day.

Ettalong held a whole school assembly involving Grandfriends Day.

The choir sang "Hearts in Harmony".

Students made Harmony Day posters, and some dressed in the national costumes of other countries.

Students made an orange flag and the canteen had a multi-cultural menu.

For Grandfriends Day, the school invited grandparents, great grandparents, elderly neighbours, older family friends, great aunts or uncles or adoptive grandparents to an assembly in the assembly hall.

A kinder assembly was held at 10am and a Years 1 and 2 assembly at 11.15am.
