Nicho Hynes to speak at youth wellbeing event
Not only has the Peninsula's "very own" Nicho Hynes been selected as a State of Origin player, he has also been selected to speak by the Stand Tall organisation to speak at "Australia's largest annual youth wellbeing event".
Last week Umina Bunnies Junior Rugby League Football Club welcomed his State of Origin selection: "Our very own Umina Bunnies Junior Nicho Hynes will make his debut for the NSW Blues in game one of the State of Origin" to be played in Adelaide on Wednesday, May 31.
"Everyone at the club and in the community is super proud of you, mate."
Just over a week later, on Thursday, 8 June, he will speak the Stand Tall event, described by organisers as "dedicated to providing effective wellbeing lessons to secondary students across Australia".
Nicho Hynes will join an assortment of speakers who will "share their life experiences in facing adversity and overcoming challenges in the lead-up to or during the event at the Aware Super Theatre, International Convention Centre Sydney".
Billed as Australia's largest youth wellbeing event, the event is expected to attract 6000 high school students.
"Speakers will share Stand Tall's key messages of hope, resilience, inspiration, and motivation through their own life experiences facing adversity, overcoming challenges, finding inspiration, and how they stayed hopeful during their own turbulent times as teenagers."
In 2022 over 100,000 high school students and teachers across Australia accessed the event through its live streaming and replay format.
