Maintain alarms to ensure they go off when they should
The Pearl Beach Fire Brigade has asked residents to check fire alarms, following a false alarm.
The brigade was "activated" to respond to an automatic fire alarm within Pearl Beach village.
"Our volunteers quickly responded to the callout, with a crewed appliance on site in minutes, alongside a crew from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 340 Umina," the brigade reported in a social media post.
"Firefighters investigated the situation, identified no sign of fire, and reset the alarm.
"False alarms are, unfortunately, quite common.
"Checking your alarms are well maintained, cleaned and tested is the best way to ensure that they go off when they should, and don't go off when they shouldn't."
