Umina CWA wins cookery trophy

Members of the Country Women's Association's Umina Beach branch has won the Northumberland Group Cookery Trophy, with branch members taking out a number of prizes.

Ms Lin Griffiths won firsts with her Wagon Wheel Slice and GF Caramel and Walnut, and a third prize with her Peach Blossom Cake.

She also won the Judges Choice of the Day with her Wagon Wheel Slice

Ms Kay Kennaugh won a first for her Donna Latter cake.

Ms Celia O'Meara won first prize for her carrot and ginger cake.

Ms Fiona Duckworth won first prize for her Spiced Fruit Chutney and came second with her Tomato Relish.

William McDonald won first prize for his Jam Drops, with Elizabeth McDonald coming second.

Third prizes went to Ms Coral Pawelko for her Steamed Pudding, Ms Brooke Law (Cherry Blush Cake) and Ms Doreen Moulds (Tomato Relish).
