First victory for women's cricket team

The Southern Spirit Cricket Club recorded their first women's competition victory when their inaugural Women's T20 team won its round one fixture against Narara-Wyoming.

Batting first, the Spirit led by an unbeaten 44 from Nicole Cattley and 18 not out from Leisel Collins who finished their innings at 6/115.

The Spirit would continue this momentum when Narara-Wyoming came into bat, with the side dismissed for 72, with Kelly Dearing and Cattley each taking two wickets.
