Double feature at folk club concert

The Troubadour Folk Club is putting on a double feature concert at St Luke's Church Hall, Woy Woy, on July 27.

The club is bringing Celtic-Australian group Witches Leap and veteran songstress Lisa Richards to the Peninsula for the night.

"Witches Leap was born out of the kitchen table sessions of County Katoomba," said Club president Mr Michael Fine.

"The haunting and beautiful music from this trio features the ancient earthy tones of the uilleann pipes, wooden Irish flute and bouzouki, along with acclaimed songwriting from Paddy Connor (Lime and Steel).

Mr Fine said Lisa Richards was an enchanting singer who would bring original compositions to the concert.

"Lisa has recently returned to Australia after more than 20 years living and performing in the United States.

"She has written and released six albums.

"She's been teaching the art of singing, songwriting and guitar for over 25 years, while continuing to write, record, perform and tour."
