Umina minor pairs final

The final of the Umina Beach Men's Bowls Club's minor pairs final was played on Saturday, September 30, by Roger Twells and Col Mew against Ian Jarratt and John Hall.

Jarratt and Hall got away to an early lead but Twells and Mew fought back strongly with a couple of strong ends, resulting in the former having to play catch-up bowls.

Twells and Mew, who have had a successful season in 2017 Club Championships, continued to apply pressure and only some superb skipper bowls from Hall kept his team in contention.

Unfortunately, the team were prevented from catching up as Twells and Mew stayed cool under pressure and finally won out 25 to 16 getting four shots on the last end.
