Nippers to use Putty Beach as backup

Killcare Surf Life Saving Club has decided to hold its Nippers sessions at Putty Beach when conditions at Killcare are not suitable, following a trial on Sunday, October 30.

"We know that Killcare can be a tough beach when conditions aren't ideal, and we've talked for a while about taking it up to Putty when it's a little bit hairy for the Nippers at Killcare," said club president Peter Bagnall.

"We finally gave it a go and it was a huge success with heaps of positive feedback," he said.

"Everyone was able to get in the water.

"We completed the competition evaluations for the Under-9s and up and had a great time doing it.

"We will refine the logistics a bit and try to advise everyone by SMS ahead of time if we'll be making the move that day and keep Putty as a permanent backup plan," he said.
