Ausgrid addresses slippage risk
Ausgrid has undertaken to rectify potential landslip and siltation problems arising from an easement created on a steep slope near Wards Hill Rd at Killcare.
The undertaking came after Cr Deanna Bocking brought the attention of council staff to the matter.
She said that the energy utility had removed matures trees and undergrowth which would have held the soil and rocks together.
Cr Bocking said the area could be at risk of slippage or runoff siltation into Mudflat Creek should heavy rains continue to affect an already wet area.
Representatives of Ausgrid advised that the contract co-ordinator was aware of council's concerns and was taking the necessary steps to rectify any problems.
It was also said that members of the Ausgrid environmental team had investigated the matter and were co-ordinating additional rectification works where appropriate.
