Lachlan wins in Shark Island swim
Umina Surf Life Saving Club nipper Lachlan Braddish competed in the 1km Shark Island swim at Cronulla on Sunday, April 28, and placed eighth out of nearly 300 competitors and won the under-12 category.
"At 11 years old, he is showing potential to become an open water champion," said Lachlan's dad, Richard.
"Lachlan's coach at the Peninsula Leisure Centre, Graeme Carroll, has coached world open water champions such as Shelley Taylor Smith and can see real potential in Lachlan," he said.
Later this year Lachlan will be eligible to compete in the 5km State titles at Penrith.
