Permanent teacher appointed
Ms Teresa Lechowski has been appointed the new permanent teacher at Ettalong Public School.
"Teresa has worked at the school as a temporary teacher for around 10 years and has always done an outstanding job in all respects," said principal Mr Colin Wallis.
"It is wonderful for Teresa to finally achieve permanency at our school.
"Congratulations Teresa and many thanks again to the selection panel for their hard work in making the decision.
"It was an outstanding field of applicants, and fantastic to see the depth and breadth of talent of the public school teachers available.
"A further panel is now being formed to select another permanent teacher for our school.
"This position will be filled through a full advertisement published soon on Jobs@DEC.
"This opportunity to select teachers and other staff members at least 50 per cent of the time is one of the legacies of the Local Schools Local Decisions initiative.
"It helps ensure that the most suitable teacher is appointed to our school with clear benefits," said Mr Wallis.
