Growth in literacy
Ettalong Beach Public School has recorded almost 10 points of growth above the state average from Years 3 to 5 in the literacy component of the National Assessment Program in Literacy and Numeracy.
"Although there is always room for improvement, on the whole we were very pleased with our school's performance, especially in literacy," said principal Mr Colin Wallis.
"Similar growth was experienced in spelling and grammar.
"Our writing results were also very pleasing.
"Analysis of our students' Year 7 results showed pleasing growth in most areas, most noticeably in spelling," said Mr Wallis.
