Rain on falling trend
Only 4.8mm of rain has fallen so far this month, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Woy Woy.
If a similar amount falls for the second half of the month, rainfall for the year-to-date will fall below average for the first time in 16 months.
Cumulative rainfall for the year is 899.1mm, compared to annual average of 911.3mm at the end of August.
The average rainfall for the month of August is 81.9mm.
