Bus stop is moved
Gosford Council has resolved to relocate a bus stop in Picnic Parade, Ettalong Beach, to allow a cafe business to occupy the footpath with tables and chairs.
Council followed the recommendation of the local traffic committee to relocate the existing bus stop 15 metres to the north in Picnic Parade.
According to the council report, Peninsula Chamber of Commerce president Mr Matthew Wales supported the change and said the relocation of the bus stop would improve the amenity of the outdoor space and improve safety.
The report stated: "Mr Wales inspected the site and comments that the relocation of the bus stop to the north does not impact on the outside dining and adjoining businesses, as the next two shops are vacant."
The report also stated that the Busways planning and infrastructure officer Mr Greg Miers supported the proposed bus stop relocation.
