How independent?

I know Cr Malcolm Brooks is nearly 80 years old and has been in Gosford Council for many years but surely he is not losing the plot when he says he is running in the next council election as an Independent.

Has his beloved Liberal Party dumped the political stalwart?

Surely not.

But stop there is more.

Malcolm Brooks has been given special dispensation to run as a Liberal Independent.

This means not only can he draw on the resources of the Liberal Party, but he also exchanges preferences with the Liberal Party.

Come on Malcolm, I hardly call that being Independent.
