A speech and language workshop will be held at the Beachside Family Centre, Umina, on Thursday, November 15.

Family centre facilitator Ms Debbie Notara said the workshop would be worthwhile for parents to understand their child's language development.

"A speech pathologist will be discussing the stages of language development along with ideas about how parents can help their child," Ms Notara said.

The cost of the workshop is $10 per person.

The workshop will begin at 7pm to ensure that working parents can attend.

The Beachside Family Centre is located on the grounds of the Umina Public School.
