History-making day at Wagstaffe
The Bouddi Society will be holding "A History Making Day" at the Wagstaffe Hall on Saturday, May 5, to assist in the development of their Bouddi Peninsula History Project.
The aim of the day was to ensure the society had gathered and preserved all useful historical material about the Bouddi Peninsula area.
The gathered material would then be used to produce written and audio/visual productions for local residents, schools and others interested in Australian history and heritage.
The day will begin at 9.15am and include presentations on remembering the Aboriginal tribes that inhabited the area and a session where residents remember the community from the 1920s onward.
The presentations would be aided by projected images of earlier times.
Gosford Librarian Mr Geoff Potter is expected to attend to share resources available in local, state and national libraries on historical material.
Following a light lunch provided by the Bouddi Society, the afternoon would be spent sharing plans for The Bouddi Peninsula History Project.
Anyone interested in attending the day can telephone Bouddi Society Conference Secretary Robyn Warburton on 4360 1709 or they can complete an online form at www.bouddisociety.org.au.
