Gosford Member of Youth Parliament announced

Brisbane Water Secondary College student Kobi Skyla has been announced as the Youth Member for Gosford in the NSW Youth Parliament.

Kobi Skyla will have the opportunity to connect with youth from the Gosford electorate and give future leaders a voice in NSW Parliament.

Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch has congratulated Kobi: "This is an incredible opportunity for many young adults to shed light on the challenges that our youth are facing.

"It provides a crucial learning experience for these young leaders to experience being a parliamentarian and make a lasting impact upon their community as a Youth Member of Parliament representing electorates across NSW.

"I am immensely excited for Kobi to begin this position and look forward to working closely with everyone involved."

Kobi said he was honoured to hold the position.

"I can't wait to debate in NSW Parliament House, and even more so to deliver my Private Members' Statement, in which I will be able to speak of an issue relevant to our community.

"I am incredibly excited and honoured to be able to represent the young people of Gosford, as it will allow me to learn from and elevate the ideas of the young people in our community."

Youth Members on the Central Coast are set to hold a Community Forum at Gosford Library at 5:30pm tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19.

The Members hope to hear about problems and challenges that have an impact upon young people on the Central Coast.

"This forum will be an event that will allow us, as representatives of the youth on the Central Coast, to understand the ideas of the youth, which we can then reciprocate through our work at Youth Parliament," Kobi said.

Community leaders, advocates, educators and young people from the Central Coast have been encouraged to attend.
