Marine Rescue unit dedicates new memorial

Marine Rescue Brisbane Water has dedicated its new memorial on Sunday morning, April 26.

Family, friends and members attended and paid respect to those Marine Rescue members who had died.

Each of those commemorated had placed service before self, with the memorial intended to serve as an inspiration for those who continue their work.

Beach fire extinguished

Pearl Beach Brigade was called out to a report of a fire near Amethyst Ave on Saturday evening, April 25..

Crews attended and found a fire on the beach which was extinguished and rendered safe.

"Solid fuel fires are not permitted on beaches for any reason and at any time," according to the brigade.
