Performers help flood appeal

The Peninsula Dance School were one of a number of Peninsula performers who helped raise over $1000 for the Queensland Premier's Flood Appeal at Ourimbah's Forest of Tranquility Flood Fest on Saturday, March 26.

The tranquil rainforest was the setting for local artists of all genres to volunteer their talent in a nine-hour event to raise money for the flood victims.

"They filled the Forest of Tranquility with colour performing dance routines in what had been a pond five days earlier," said organiser Ms Karen Clarke.

"The Tea Ladies quirky cabaret spoof on tea and coffee was a hit.

"Many people asked about them wanting to book them for other events," she said.

"The day was filled with quality performances and new fans discovering Rocwater and Michael Peters."

The event also included a candlelit meditation to the sounds of a sitar to celebrate Earth hour.

"The impressed supporters believed it was one of the best settings and mini festivals they have been too," said Gosford North Rotary member Mr Graham Black.

"Many also enjoyed a tranquil stroll through the pristinely preserved Australian Rainforest Walk, with its mossy brook and unique flora and fauna."
