Woytopia program announced
The program for the Woytopia Festival at Woy Woy South Public School has been announced.
It includes a solar-powered music stage, green talks, gardening talks, indigenous talks and wildlife shows.
There will be drumming, as a "chill space", a wellness space and a kids' story space.
Children's activities will include circus play, art, old-fashioned games, a jumping castle, a fire engine, face-painting and soccer.
The music stage will feature Kirsty Bolton, GI Jane, Rosie and The Quest, Jet City Sports Club and an Organarchy DJ set.
At the Marquee, talks will include Connections to Country with Mr Tim Selwyn, the Peninsula's Indigenous heritage with Ms Tracey Howie (Guringai Tribal Link), a Walkabout Wildlife Park reptile and wildlife show, a bush tucker show with Mr Jake Cassar and a Drumbala performance followed by open drum circle.
Green talks will include how to cut energy bills with heat pumps and energy efficiency by Mr Ian Garradd, and a solar buying guide by Mr Joachim Muller.
Mr John Seed will talk about Deep Ecology, and the Grow Urban Shade Trees group will talk about "Why the Peninsula needs trees".
Repair Cafe will hold demonstrations with Ms Wanda Gomez.
Gardening talks will include Keeping backyard chickens, Introduction to Permaculture, Garden tool maintenance, Keeping native bees and Keeping honey bees.
Ms Tania Haydn from Woy Woy's Community Garden will speak about better composting and worm farms.
The School Hall will host a morning of bicycle-powered cinema with "Regenerating Australia" (15 minutes) on repeat.
In the afternoon, it will host a kids' silent disco (Silent Rave).
The Wellness Space will host meditation, Qi Gong, Kids Yoga, yoga for all, Tai Chi, Maya Healing and yoga relaxation.
The Chill Space will have "trance-like analog synth soundscapes featuring music from plants, Purusa sitar and percussion and DJ Mannschaft with chilled 70s soul and psych.
The Roundabout Circus will have a morning and an afternoon aerial show.
A variety of food stalls will have Vietnamese and Jamaican cuisine, as well as paella, gelato, nachos, gozleme, doughnuts, smoothies, sausages and coffee.
An "eco-market" with 50 stalls will include bodycare, organic produce, jewellery, clothing, hemp, sourdough, furniture, solar, energy-saving, and local eco-groups.
