Rotary club to hold youth gala ball

The Rotary Club of Umina Beach will hold the Central Coast Youth Gala Ball at Gosford RSL Club on Saturday, November 9, from 6pm to 11:30pm.

"The goal is to raise funds to expand the Top Blokes Mentoring Programs for young males to improve their mental wellbeing and support them to make healthy life choices," said Rotary organiser Mr Paul Quinn.

"This black tie gala ball will be an evening of colourful performances, magical entertainment and photo booth fun.

"We hope this theme will ignite guest passion to raise some much-needed funds for Top Blokes Foundation on the Central Coast.

"This year we will put some fun back into fundraising with some interactive fundraising as well as a lively auction.

"The night will be filled with roving guests performers and there will be plenty of live music so guests can hit the dance floor.

"This year's theme blends the power of fire and its frozen opposite, ice.

"Two of nature's wildest elements can symbolise a battle of opposites, just like life with its ups, downs and challenges," said Mr Quinn.

"We wanted a gala theme that keeps the conversation going about the importance of supporting our young people and to demonstrate the power in standing together on the battlefront

"Coldness (ice) can sometimes strike by way of loneliness, feeling isolated, depression and mental health challenges.

"Feeling alone is like a constant shiver, freezing us from the inside out yet there is hope, warmth and power (fire) in caring for one another."

Mr Quinn said: "Both Rotary and Top Blokes Foundation stand with local young people and help fight the battle every day."

Dress will be Black Tie with cocktail or formal wear "with a hint of blue, white, orange, silver or red".

"We are also looking for Gala Ball Partners to consider donating to our auction or sponsoring the event," Mr Quinn said.
