Demountables need replacing, says Tesch
Seven classrooms in Peninsula public schools are demountables that are more than 20 years old, according to Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch.
She said they needed to be replaced with permanent structures.
Documents released to the NSW Labor Opposition under freedom of information laws reveal that the seven Peninsula demountables are among over 4000 across the State that are over 20 years old.
Ms Tesch said that Woy Woy Public School had five out of the seven old demountable classrooms.
Brisbane Water Secondary College Umina Campus had one and Umina Beach Public School had the other old demountable.
''A classroom should be a stable fixture in the lives of teachers and students," Ms Tesch said.
"This Government needs to reassess their priorities and commit to brick and mortar classrooms," she said.
