NRMA applies to upgrade cabins at Ocean Beach
The NRMA has applied to upgrade a number of its cabins at its Ocean Beach holiday park.
The cabin upgrades will involve three new elevated cabins each with two bedrooms.
They will be located on six dwelling sites (numbers 34 to 39) that will be amalgamated to form three new sites, according to the application lodged with Central Coast Council.
The NRMA has asked that each cabin be permitted to have two ensuites, a living room, kitchen and deck.
"In total, the proposal intends to add 10 toilets, 10 shows and 10 sinks for the use of temporary guests at the holiday park," said a report submitted with the application.
"As the land slopes slightly in this location, there may be the need for a 600mm high retaining wall parallel to the road.
"The installation of the retaining wall is exempt development and does not form part of this application," the report said.
The applicant has argued that the proposed development would be minor and does not require any removal of trees or earthworks, it claimed there would be no impact on the natural or built environment.
"The development will have a positive social and economic impact as it will improve the park's facilities for guests and potentially attract more tourists to the area.
"In addition the works will provide short term employment."
