Home destroyed by fire
A home in McEvoy Ave, Umina, was destroyed by fire on Sunday, December 8.
About 1:20am the occupant of the house awoke to the sound of the fire alarm with the rear of the house engulfed in flames.
The house was evacuated and fire brigade called.
Upon police attendance, the entire house was alight.
Fire brigade extinguished the fire and identified the ignition point to be a lounge at the rear of the house.
The fire is believed to have started accidently.
