Bus zone for Pretty Beach school

A bus zone and No Stopping zone will be installed in the vicinity of Pretty Beach Public School.

The council decision came after the school contacted Busways following the completion of the construction of the access to the school from Heath Rd.

A 30 metre bus zone will be provided on the south western side of Heath Rd, Pretty Beach, south easterly from a point 14 metres north west of the north western side of the concrete access to Pretty Beach Public School.

A No Stopping zone will be provided on the south western side of Heath Rd, 14 metres north west from the bus zone.

Due to the competing needs for parking adjacent to the school, Busways requested a full time bus zone be provided to serve both school buses and general route services.

The request was supported by Council to improve the safety of the children's crossing and provide school students direct access to the school from bus services.
