A devil indeed

Joan Patrick suggests (Peninsula News, March 5) the bundling and the bungling of the Prime Minister at The Lobby restaurant on Australia Day was sexist.

To my mind, it was an unfortunate example of panic and incompetence.

To her great credit, Prime Minister Ms Julie Gillard exhibited grace under extreme pressure, by worrying about the safety of the opposition leader Tony Abbott,

The whole spectacle gave an unwholesome appearance of a stricken animal pursued by hounds baying for blood.

An angry mob is indeed a devil.
