Everglades wins A grade golf
Everglades Country Club has won the Central Coast District Golf Association A grade final played at Shelly Beach Golf Club on Sunday, March 27, against Toukley Golf Club.
Everglades Country Club won the match 4-3 for the first time since 1994.
The Everglades number one player sunk his final putt on the 18th hole which pressured the Toukley player to sink the putt to square the hole.
The putt lipped the hole giving Everglades the win.
"Lots of nerves were very obvious in the first three holes on both sides with some players being down by three holes, then the miraculous recovery by the Everglades team," said Everglades publicity officer Mr John Lawrence.
"By the 14th the matches were all square, then a nervous wait until the 18th," he said.
