Year 3 and 4 teachers at Ettalong Public School have been training in an innovative and practical approach to the explicit teaching of literacy known as Accelerated Literacy.
"It is destined to have a significant impact on our students' literacy learning outcomes," school principal Mr Colin Wallis said.
"A most valuable and effective program for all students."
