Rockface contractor selected

Gosford Council has selected the contractor to carry out rock face stabilisation works at Mt Ettalong Rd in South Umina at its meeting on July 28.

Kirrawee company The Rix Group was chosen to undertake stage three of the project that includes the scaling, supply and installation of rock bolts, rock fall mesh, shotcrete, rock catch fencing and associated work on the southern side of Mt Ettalong Rd.

According to a council report, the company has completed similar work for council at Patonga Dr, Pearl Beach Rd and Woy Woy Rd near Horsfield Bay.

Work was expected to get underway at the end of last month and will take around six weeks to complete.

The project is being partly funded through the Natural Disaster Mitigation Program.
