Dry period recorded
No rainfall was recorded on the Peninsula in the first week of August, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Woy Woy.
The figures show 11 consecutive days without rain from July 28, the longest dry period since a 12-day stretch which ended in the first week of March this year.
Rainfall for July was just over half its monthly average, with only 50.6mm falling compared to a monthly average of 97.6.
However, rainfall for the year to date remained above average.
The figure was 916.8mm at the end of July, which was 91.4mm or 10 per cent above the average figure of 825.4mm.
