Council endorses training proposal

Gosford Council has resolved to endorse a proposal to provide the technical training component of the Technical and Entertainment Production Academy (TEPA) course.

According to a council staff report, the council has provided support for the Entertainment Program of Brisbane Water Secondary College through resource and marketing support for activities at the Peninsula Theatre, Woy Woy, since 2005.

The college has worked with, and been supported by, Woy Woy Little Theatre on an annual production which accounts for part of attaining course requirements for the NSW Higher School Certificate, the University Admission Index and the Australian Qualification Framework.

This year, students were involved in all aspects of a production, including set design, technical production, stage management and front-of-house activities.

The council report stated that the students also provided assistance with other theatre productions including the Cultural Laboratory, International Women's Day and Australia Day.
