Money for saltmarsh
Gosford Council has been awarded a further $30,000 Recreational Fishers grant from the Department of Primary Industries to restore saltmarsh in Patonga.
Council officer and member of its Coastal and Estuary Management Committee Dr Peter Freewater announced the grant, which he said would support the $60,000 already received, and would be used to grow saltmarsh plants as part of a trial to rehabilitate the saltmarsh at Patonga Creek.
Dr Freewater said the grant would also be used for bush regeneration contractors.
