New mural is 'powerful' message

A "powerful new mural" at Umina's Peninsula Recreation Precinct is sparking conversations about mental health through creativity, combined with community resources, according to Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch.

"Featuring our fantastic local NRL star and mental health advocate Nicho Hynes alongside young Umina Bunnies players, the artwork inspires hope and connection while linking directly to support services through QR codes," she said.

She said Central Coast Council was highlighting the strength of sport, creativity and community to break down the stigma around seeking help.

Outreach clinic for veterans and their families

RSL LifeCare will hold an Outreach Clinic from 10am to 3pm on Friday, September12, to provide support to veterans and their families on the Peninsula.

The Clinic will offer a one-stop support hub on the day at Ettalong Diggers where veterans can access information, guidance, and direct assistance.

Support will be offered with DVA claims and advocacy, ordering service and medical documents, White and Gold Card applications, referrals to support services and information about the Veteran and Family Hub and upcoming wellbeing events

Ettalong Diggers community manager Ms Kim Cole said: "We are honoured to host this important event for our veteran community.

"By bringing these services directly to Ettalong Diggers, we're helping reduce barriers and ensuring local veterans can access the care, advocacy, and support they deserve."

"The Outreach Clinic is open to all veterans and their families, offering a welcoming environment to connect, ask questions, and receive personalised assistance."
