Two residents turn 100

Two residents of a Umina aged care facility have turned 100 years of age in the last two weeks.

Laura Caruana celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday, May 9, at Peninsula Village surrounded by her family, friends and staff.

As a special treat, she had an ice cream cake and a cup of tea.

The previous Sunday, May 4, another resident Dora also celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family, friends, and staff.

Heritage ferry brought into operation for the day

Central Coast Ferries brought its 82-year-old heritage ferry Codock II into operation for the day on Saturday, May 10.

It operated all day on the Woy Woy to Saratoga, Davistown and Empire Bay ferry run.

The ferry service described the ferry as a "veteran of the timber-constructed Cockatoo Island launches".
