Early start for Marine Rescue crew

Marine Rescue Central Coast's main vessel, Central Coast 21, had a busy day on Wednesday, December 4.

It was called out at 3am to assist a 24ft yacht with engine failure off Box Head.

The boat and her crew of three were on-scene, out to sea within 90 minutes.

From there, the yacht was towed back to its mooring at St Hubert's Island, where its skipper will be able to effect repairs.

Just a few hours later, it was back in action, this time as part of our newest rated crew member's successful operational assessment.

Recognised as 'employee of the quarter'

Votes from her fellow workers have resulted in an "Employee of the Quarter" award for Ms Megan Stevenson.

The award was presented as part of Ettalong Diggers' "Rewards and Recognition" program.

Ms Stevenson received numerous "Shout Outs" recognising her commitment to customer service and team work.

"She always looks to improve the lives of our members," said club chief executive Mr Colin Murphy.

"Along with the praise she received from her peers, her efforts didn't go unnoticed from our management team and members alike."
