Fire brigade asked to help ambulance service

The Pearl Beach fire brigade was asked to assist NSW Ambulance shortly before midnight on Friday, April 26, to help with an incident where someone fallen in a home.

"Our volunteers turned out quickly, attending the incident and helping to load the casualty onto a stretcher, to carry them out of the home, and to load the waiting ambulance," said brigade captain Mr Lindsay Boyd.

"While the NSW Rural Fire Service is well known for its role in responding to bushfires, along with structure and vehicle fires, we can also be called upon by other agencies to lend a hand when needed.

"When the ambulance paramedics need another set of hands to help get a patient out of a house with limited accessibility, such as a number of homes in Pearl Beach and Patonga, NSW RFS volunteers get the call.

"With the New South Wales Rural Fire Service, you can get involved and help your community, even if you don't want to go out and fight fires."

Rotary members attend assembly at Penrith

Members of the Rotary Club of Woy Woy have attended a district assembly at Penrith campus of Western Sydney University.

The assembly was for incoming office bearers.

"There is always something new to learn about Rotary.

"We caught up with old friends and made some new ones."
