Called out to help with boat incident

Pearl Beach Brigade and Patonga Volunteer Rural Bush Fire Brigade were called out on Saturday, March 9, to assist NSW Ambulance following an incident on a boat.

The crews were quickly on scene after the call at 2:20pm, assisting in transferring the patient to a waiting ambulance for transport to hospital, before returning to their stations and standing down.

Rotary club donates food and clothing

The Rotary Club of Brisbane Water has donated $500 of food and clothing to Allawah House, which provides transitional housing for older women in East Gosford.

The women are at risk of homelessness, and include victims of domestic violence.

"Allawah House is run through a partnership between Pacific Link Housing and Women's Community Shelters on land provided by BEA Projects," said Rotary club secretary Ms Di Bartok.

It is one of the community projects supported by Rotary Brisbane Water.

The club's community services director Ms Jennifer Brown and member Ms Vicki Spain delivered the food along with clothing to Allawah's project worker Ms Adele Graham recently.

"This was enthusiastically received by the residents who joined us for morning tea," Ms Brown said.
