Surf club presents annual awards

Ocean Beach Surf Lifesaving Club held its annual presentation night on Saturday, June 22.

Awards presented on the night including Lifesaver of the Year which went to Shane Oakes, Junior Lifesaver of the Year to Erin Tonkin and the Director of Lifesaving Encouragement award to Brett Newton.

Jane Davis won the Club Person of the Year award, Matthew Calbert won the Junior Club Person of the Year award and Jen Rybie and Mark "Aras" Arahill won the President's Encouragement Award.

The award for Most Patrol Hours by a member was won by Chris White with 110 while the award for Most Patrol Hours by a non-rostered member went to Nigel Fitzgibbon with 101.

The Patrol of the year award went to 13 and 14 which were captained by Katie Dixon and Aaron Camp respectively and the Sports Team of the Year award went to the under-19 male surf boat crew and under-17 patrol competition team.
